Who am I ?
Hi, I’m Jaidev, I’m 13, and I love cars. As a child I gravitated to anything with wheels ,whether it was a truck or a race car, I loved it all. Since then, my family has supported and nurtured my love for all things cars and vehicles. As a middle schooler reflecting back on my early childhood, I realize that I was provided the nessesary structure, guidence, love, and support, which has helped me to achieve the confidence and a healthy sense of self that allows me to explore my intrests and the world around me. I belive that every kid should have that stable foundation so they, too, can thrive and achieve. That’s why I am supporting the Drive for Kids MSR Houston Charity.
Child Advocates:
Child Advocates is a group that have been around for 40 years and helps thousands of kids a year in Texas. They appoint volunteers to children who have been abused or are trying to live with a loving relative or foster family.
State appointed advocates are normally juggling multiple cases at once and can’t properly focus on one child. Child Advocates appoints one volunteer to each child or sibling group. They then work with the kids to try and get an understanding on how to best represent what they need to a judge in court.
Arms Wide:
Arms wide is based in Texas has been around for almost 50 years. Their mission is to place kids and sibling groups into kind, loving, and permanent foster homes. They specialize in older kids and kids with disabilities. They have placed over 2300 kids into adoptive homes.
Adopting a child or becoming a foster parent is a difficult and confusing process for both the kids and the parents. Arms Wide helps to guide the parents though that process and helps to asign the kids or sibling groups into the family that would fit them best.
